
Jonathan Clements is a full-time author of both fact and fiction. His publications include Pirate King, Confucius: A Biography, and The Moon in the Pines. He also co-wrote the Anime Encyclopedia and the Dorama Encyclopedia: A Guide to Japanese TV Drama Since 1953. In 2000, he received a Japan Festival Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Understanding of Japanese Culture. Forthcoming book projects include further volumes on Chinese piracy, Japanese sorcery, Norwegian adventurers, Siamese revolutionaries, Finnish heroism, Swedish mercenaries, and the arch-enemy of the Roman Empire.
